Hello everyone and thank you for visiting the future home of the MK:Taipei podcast series. The show's aim is to bridge the 8 hour gap between the UK and Taiwan, exploring the culture and language barriers, providing an insight into the latest news stories and immersing ourselves in the unique music that is quintessentially British.
Here's a quick Q&A to get things started...
Q. How often will the show be released?
A. The aim will be for a fortnightly release to begin with, with a view to increasing (or perhaps decreasing) as the show's needs are established.
Q. How long until the first release?
A. Good question! Currently an outline for show is being drawn up in line with its aims, and people are being contacted to provide material for the show. With any luck, the first podcast will be released late July/early August.
Q. Why MK:Taipei?
A. Born and raised in Milton Keynes (MK) I believe my hometown better reflects the "modernised grassroot" culture that is present in the UK. Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, reflects the show's ambition to reach as many Taiwanese people as possible. And they rhyme.
Q. How about Little King / 小王?
A. My real name, Ryan, means Little King (小王). When trying to choose a Taiwanese name I (unsuccessfully) tried to use the name 王小王. My wife-to-be didn't like it, so I'll use it here instead!
